The Body Control Unit (BCU) plays a crucial role in managing the various accessories within a vehicle. It connects to the Powerbus network, providing a consistent 12 V supply to the entire system. The BCU is equipped with a 48-pin Molex connector, which serves as the interface to the vehicle’s wire harness, ensuring seamless integration. One of the notable features of the BCU is its integrated speaker, which emits signal tones for alerts and notifications. Additionally, it includes a USB-C connector that serves dual purposes: it allows for device charging and is essential for delivering software updates to the Movaria system. A significant advantage of the BCU is its built-in lithium-ion battery. This battery enables low-power functions, such as activating lights or hazard signals, to operate within a 12 V circuit, even in the absence of a larger battery, with a total capacity of up to 10 W. This feature is particularly useful for systems that rely on the BCU battery to initiate the main batteries. Moreover, the BCU is equipped with an IoT device, facilitating internet connectivity. This feature enhances vehicle management by enabling users to track their vehicles and access live statistics, providing valuable insights into vehicle performance and status.
