Motor Gearbox Unit

Movaria Power Train

The Motor Gearbox Unit is the E-axle of the system. It combines a high torque permanent magnet synchronous Motor with an electrically actuated gearbox and differential gear as well as an electric fail-safe parking brake. The Motor of the MGU is connected and powered by the MCU. The connectors from the parking brake and electric gear actuator are connected to the BCU. The Gearbox is oil lubricated and contains an overpressure valve on one side and a magnetic oil release screw on the other side.

Generator Unit

Movaria Power Train

The pedal generator replaces the conventional bottom bracket of a bicycle. The generator can be mounted into the optional aluminum holder. The generator is connected to the power bus of the system. When the system is turned on, the generator can be set in two states, it is either deactivated or set to one of five different assist levels. Each assist level simulates a different pedal resistance and behavior. Then the pedals are turned energy is produced. The faster you pedal, the faster the vehicle will drive. The system is even able to be driven when there is no battery connected.

Motor Control Unit

Movaria Power Train

The motor control unit controls the motor of the System. The motor of the MGU is connected to the three M6 phase terminals as well as to the 6-Pin M12 connector in the side of the MCU. The MCU runs a 4Q field-oriented control algorithm and thereby is able to regeneratively brake the motor. To improve the noise emissions, the MCU switches from a block to sinusoidal commutation. In combination with the GEN and the MGU, a nominal power of 250W is realized.

Display

Movaria Power Train

The HMI is the Display and the remote of the system. The Display shows all necessary information and the buttons on the remote are used to turn on and off the System as well as control the different functions. The Display is connected to the green connector of the BCU. The Display is equipped with a 3.5” color screen. On the back of the display are two cables. One is directly connected to the remote and the other one is equipped with the connector to connect the HMI to the rest of the system. The HMI35 is equipped with a USB-A connector which can be used to charge external devices. As an option a RFID module can be integrated into the backside of the display. In this case RFID tags can be used to lock the Movaria drive system.

Heat Dissipation Unit

Movaria Power Train

The heat dissipation unit is the brake chopper of the system. It is required if either the Motor or the Generator generates more energy than the Battery can take. To achieve this, it carefully monitors the battery's capability for being charged as well as the power generated by the Motor and Generator. If necessary, the HDU will dissipate excess energy by heating itself up. The HDU is temperature controlled and therefore the maximum energy absorbance is mainly limited by how well it is cooled. It is necessary to connect to a proper cooling surface.
